In February 2002, Perform Marketing launched
an accessibility initiative that put accessibility at the
forefront of all projects. By developing websites and multimedia
content with accessibility in mind, we increase the opportunity
for all users to access electronic content, regardless of
a disability, age, or functional limitation.
There are 750 million people with disabilities worldwide,
including people with visual, auditory, physical and cognitive
impairments. As use of the Web has grown, people with disabilities
have increasingly turned to the Internet as an invaluable
resource for information and communication.
Despite numerous adaptive technologies for people with disabilities,
access to the Web and multimedia content remains difficult.
Sophisticated website design and multimedia content baffle
most assistive technologies, confusing or (more frequently)
omitting critical information from a site. With all of these
barriers, designing websites and multimedia content to be
accessible to all users, provides some unique challenges.
Perform Marketing ensures that your website, multimedia presentations
or any other digital marketing are fully accessible to people
with disabilities and in compliance with the guidelines of
the W3C (World
Wide Web Consortium), Canadian Treasury Board Common Look
& Feel Standards (CLF), and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation
Act.
Our solutions can be applied to existing sites and presentations
or new projects that are standard HTML, data-driven or rich
media. At Perform Marketing, we believe everyone has the right
to information.
Look for these logos on sites that are compliant.
